EUROPEAN VACATION
This project was originally conceived for Facebook as an unpredictable, un-Facebook way to document one’s adventures in a foreign land. Shot over two extended work trips to Europe, I challenged myself to make a narrative through pictures of myself assuming different roles and identities each day. I sought to interact with the environments I found myself in and worked primarily with complete strangers. In each case (and often in broken bits of foreign languages), I was forced to quickly convince those that took the pictures and those that acted as players on the set of the value of this effort – though they were unlikely to understand it and would certainly never see it.
